I've been struggling with this - the desire to write, the feeling all of my life that it is what I was made for, and yet not doing so when so very, very many others are. I sometimes blame the publishing industry, the oversaturation of the market, the futile effort to get something into the world through self-publishing. Why bother to put so much time, effort, and emotional work into something that, if I am lucky, 50 people will read? When my job and family take all of my mental and emotional energy?
